LPG कनेक्शन उज्जवला योजना (Ujjwala Yojana) का दूसरा चरण प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा उत्तर प्रदेश में शुरू कर दिया गया है। योजना के तहत मुफ्त में एलपीजी कनेक्शन के साथ पहली रिफिल और हॉटप्लेट भी मुफ्त मिलेगी। दूसरे चरण में सबसे बड़ी राहत ये दी है कि गैस कनेक्शन के लिए अब राशन कार्ड या कोई अन्य निवास प्रमाण (Address Proof) देने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।

Eligibility criteria to avail connection under Ujjwala Scheme 2.0

1. Applicant ( woman only) must have attained 18 years of age.
2. There should not be any other LPG connection from any OMC in the same household.
3. Adult woman belonging to any of the following categories – SC, ST, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), Most Backward Classes (MBC), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Tea and Ex- Tea Garden tribes, Forest Dwellers, People residing in Islands and River Islands, enlisted under SECC Households (AHL TIN) or any Poor Household as per 14-point declaration.

Documents required for Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

The candidates who are applying for PM Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 Registration 2021 for New Connection KYC need to ready these documents.

1. Know Your Customer(KYC)
2. Aadhaar Card of applicant as Proof of Identity and Proof of Address in case applicant is residing at the same address as mentioned in Aadhaar (not mandatory for Assam and Meghalaya).
3. Ration Card issued by the State from which application is being made/ other State Govt. document certifying family composition/ Self-Declaration as per Annexure I (for migrant applicants)

Features of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)

• The scheme will provide 5 crore LPG connections to BPL families.
• There will be financial support of Rs.1,600 for each LPG connection given to BPL families.
• EMI facilities will be given for stove and refill cost (Interest-free loan).
• The administrative cost of Rs.1,600 for installation of the LPG will be borne by the Government.
• The scheme is complementary to the Prime Minister’s ‘Give It Up Campaign’ through which a huge number of middle-class families have voluntarily surrendered their cooking gas subsidy.

Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

The main beneficiaries of the scheme are women belonging to poor families not having an LPG connection in the household. Initially, the following categories were covered under the scheme by the Government:

• List of beneficiaries in the SECC 2011 list
• All SC/ST’s households beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)(Gramin)
• Antoyoday Anna Yojana (AAY)
• Forest Dwellers
• Most backward Classes (MBC)
• Tea and Ex- Tea Garden Tribes
• Residents of islands and river islands

The benefit of the scheme has been extended to people residing in Hilly states, including North-Eastern (NE) states by treating them as ‘priority states’.
