Recalling the project, Farhan took to Instagram and thanked the Indian Army for their support. “Always grateful to the Indian Army for supporting us and the incredibly dedicated and determined cast and crew that have supported this life experience.. I would not call this a film, as it has always been more than that.’ Lakshya’ .. .17 years,” he wrote.

Along with this, Farhan posted a video clip of memorable scenes from the film. The 17th anniversary of the film has also made Preeti nostalgic. She considers ‘Lakshya’ as her “toughest” film.

“Remembering Lakshya today – the hardest film I have ever done. Filming at 18000+ feet in Ladakh was brutal and beautiful at the same time. I am extremely proud of this film and what it stands for. It is definitely a love letter to the entire army. It is also a reminder to never forget all those sacrifices and the unmatched bravery of our armed forces,” she posted on Instagram. ‘Lakshya’ did not do well at the box office at the time of release but later acquired cult status.
