John Cena will play the role of Jakob Toretto, the brother of Dominic Toretto and an assassin.
The much awaited news has finally arrived for the cinema lovers who are yearning to visit the cinema hall. The ninth edition of Fast & Furious is coming to your nearest theaters on August 5, as its initial release in India was delayed due to the second wave of Covid-19. The film will release in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
After its world premiere in South Korea on 19 May, the film was released in theaters worldwide on 25 June. But for fans in India, the wait was extended due to the Covid-19 lockdown in most parts of the country.
Along with familiar faces, rapper Cardi B, Latin music pop star Ozuna and wrestler John Cena will also appear in the film. Cena will play Jacob Toretto, the brother of Dominic Toretto and an assassin.
The official synopsis of the film reads, “Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto lives a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger is always on their peaceful horizon. This time, that danger is.” Will force Dom to face the sins of his past if he’s going to save the people he loves most. His team leads a world-shattering conspiracy led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver joins together to stop him: a man who also happens to be Dom’s abandoned brother, Jacob.”

The screenplay is written by Dan Casey, while Justin Lin, who directed four installments in the series, returns as director for the ninth installment.
Since its debut in 2001, Fast and Furious has grossed nearly $6 billion at the box office, making it the seventh highest-grossing film series in the world.
