Akshay Kumar’s ambitious project Prithviraj has received a threat from the Karni Sena over its title. The YRF film is a biopic on emperor Prithviraj Chauhan and is directed by Chandraparaksh Dwivedi. Filmmaker Surjeet Singh Rathore, president of the Youth Wing of the Karni Sena, has put up three conditions for the film. It even warned that if Akshay and Aditya Chopra do not accept their demand, they will face a situation similar to Sanjay Leela Bhansali during Padmaavat.
Surjeet Singh Rathore shared few clips of new articles on his Instagram page and wrote that the organization respects Akshay Kumar. He even said that Aditya Chopra should respect the last ‘Hindu Samrat’ and use his name with due respect. He even warned them that they will have to face consequences and YRF would be responsible for all the losses. The three conditions that they have put up are, screening of the film before its release, the film be shown to the Rajput society, and title of the film to have the full name — Veer Yoddha Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.
The Karni Sena does not stop there they have other conditions too. They have demanded that film has to be screened for them before its release. Singh said, “If they don’t listen to our advice they will have to face the consequences. What happened to Sanjay Leela Bhansali during ‘Padmaavat’, the makers of this film will have to be prepared for it, too.”
Prithviraj also stars Manushi Chhillar and will be based on the epic poem Prithviraj Raso by Chand Bardai. Revealing details about the movie, director Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi said in an interview to ANI, “Prithviraj is also based mainly on medieval literature, an epic called Prithviraj Raso by the great poet Chand Bardai. Apart from a couple of versions of Raso, there are many other literary works on Prithviraj, his life, and times. In addition to these, there are commentaries on Raso.”
